Notes From March 29 Rehearsal

I just want to get a few things down while they're still on my mind.  I'm not going to write down all of the notes we were going through at the end.  Hopefully everyone was paying attention.

I noticed a water spill in the curtain area backstage.  That could be a hazard for people getting on and off. Let's try to keep water bottles only in the prop and dressing rooms, and on the floor in front of the stage - not on the stage and not in anyone's traffic area.

If you have a trench coat, put your name inside on a piece of masking tape so we can keep track of whose is whose.

I'm going to make an executive decision on Sable Island.  I tried googling it but didn't find much.  It is taken from the French word for sand, and I think that is pronounced SAH bleh.  However, given that fact that none of the websites I found on the island mentioned how to pronounce it, we'll go with the standard pronunciation (rhymes with cable).  I'm guessing if they were too concerned about it being pronounced differently they would have made a point of its pronunciation.  If anyone is interested, Sable Island is famous for its wild horses.  You can get more information at this website:  http://www.greenhorsesociety.com/default.htm

Next week, we'll go over Don't Say No... once or twice, then Jitterbug Saturday Night.  Then, we're going to run through the entire play.  Remember - we're not going to do all of the stopping and starting like we've been doing.  Read through all of your scenes.  Know your lines and your cues!!!!!

Extra practices are scheduled for April 17 and April 24!

Cheryl had a great idea a couple of weeks ago about setting up a table in the hallway to honor veterans from our WRHS families.  I keep forgetting to have her bring it up at rehearsals.  So Cheryl, if you're reading this, please talk about it next week.  If you're not Cheryl, please remind me about it next week.

hi, I just learned this in Oct, actors get Into their roles by making a list ALL about their character, what is their favorite color, food, fun thing to do. What family members do u have? Where r u from? etc... Not you of course, your character, who is someone completely different from you. Try it!
