Pictures & Videos from March 29th

Okay, so you won't be sitting at this table for this scene,
but I thought it was a great shot otherwise!

"Slap That Jukebox"
Guys, you came in a little early on the talking part, BUT I could hear you much better this week!  (I'm not worried about this since it's never happened before--just a fluke.)  You all did a good job of getting back on track when the chorus came around again.  Oh, and the four-part harmony at the end was lovely!

"Never Gonna Give Up"
Okay, a couple of things for this one.  We were a little behind the beat towards the end of the song.  I know it's harder to hear on this stage than at the church, but we still need to anticipate and "think ahead" on this song.  I'm hoping once we use the school's sound system, you'll be able to hear better.  Secondly, I need more volume from 1st sopranos (the highest part).  Oh!  And great job on the up&down arms (0:17)!

"Rock-a-bye Baby"

"We'll Meet Again"
The solo and quartet were clear and pure--great job ladies!  Now, when everyone sings, the music gets much louder.  It swells, too.  So, that means you all need to breathe deeper to sing louder.  Because most of you are standing still for this song, volume shouldn't be an issue.

I want everybody--all cast members--to practice singing lying-on-the-floor-with-a-book-on-your-stomach. Seriously, this is the BEST exercise to train yourself to breathe from your diaphragms.  I used to sing as quiet as a mouse before I retrained my breathing.  You can DO it.  This works for saying your lines louder too.  I can't stress this enough.  Don't make me have us do this for warm-ups....  I don't want you lying on the dusty stage floor with your costumes on, but we will if we have to!
