Never Gonna Give Up Vocals--Slowed Down

This post is for ALL of the ladies (except Tiny Tappers).

The above video is for all of you to watch, no matter which part you'd like to sing.  If it's helpful for you to write notes in your script, then go grab it--and a pencil.  If you don't want to write in your script, then please still watch the video.  It'll save time on Thursday if you know this information ahead of time.  Thanks.  (Sorry about the wiggly camera.  I had a horrible cinematographer.)

The following videos are the different vocal parts for "Never Gonna Give Up".  I'm playing them at half speed--partly so you can hear each note, and partly because I'm not that great of a pianist.  Bailey and/or Bethany are going to help me out by playing each part at full speed with the Demo CD going in the background.  (They're much better pianists than I.)  I hope to get those posted some time next week, if their schedules allow.  Please watch these with your script in hand (pages 41-42).  Sing along as best as you can.  I may not have the rhythms totally perfect since I'm playing it much slower than the CD tempo.  The CD rhythms are correct.

Have your 1st and 2nd choice ready for Thursday.

Above, is the high part (1st soprano), but I messed up at the end of the song, so the video below is the last bit of it.

Sorry about the two videos thing.  Someday I'll learn how to edit them together.  ; )

The above video is the middle part (2nd soprano).  My fingers slipped in a couple of spots, but you get the idea.

The following three videos make up the lower part (alto).

The following is a blooper.  I think it was, like, "Take 47" or something.  I'm posting it just to show you that practice makes better (and sometimes even perfect).  ; )  I want you to take comfort in the fact that if you're having trouble with a part, then just keep at it.  Ask for help if you need to.  You'll get it.

Feel free to laugh while you watch.  After all, you'll be laughing with me, not at me.  (I can take it.)

Here's a similar video featuring Don Music from Sesame Street:

Thank you!

I think that I would like to sing the second soprano. If not, I can sing the alto.

Sarah, that should be fine. We won't really know until Thursday what our balance will be like. We'll try the song with everyone working on their first choice, but we may need to switch things around. I'm really excited to begin working on this song though!
