For February 23rd

Everyone:  We'll be adding "Battle Hymn of the Republic" to our warm-ups--just the first verse and refrain for now, but we may add another verse later.  So, feel free to brush up on this, okay?
"Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord,
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword--
His truth is marching on.
Glory! Glory, hallelujah! Glory! Glory, hallelujah!
Glory! Glory, hallelujah! His truth is marching on!"

We'll be going over Scene 29, beginning with vocal work on "Hey America, What's Cookin'?"  Here are the characters in Scene 29:  Taylor sisters, Riveters, all Hostesses, Edith, Edna, Lucy, Mrs. Wilcox, Mrs. King, Pamela Skipworth, Vida Curtis, Marion Gilford, Rita Steward, Tallulah Tapper & Tiny Tappers, Hugo Harmony & Harmony Brothers, Male Government Agents, Carl, Leo, Floyd, Fred, Jack, Kitty, Prof. Sullivan, Angie, and Kilroy.  All of you sing this song except for Kilroy who comes in at the end of the song.  Also, Angie comes in sometime during the song.  The words and notes aren't too tricky for this song, but the rhythm is.  Please practice this several times before Thursday afternoon.  Thanks!

Following vocal work, we'll be working on Scene 29 staging, but no choreography yet.*  We can look forward to that on March 15th.  Taylor sisters, your lines carry this scene, so please know them well (page 50).

After a short break, we'll work on Scene 30.  All of the Scene 29 characters are in Scene 30, plus the Female Government Agents, and Western Union Messenger.  There are lots of lines here.  Make sure you know your line and the line before yours, so you know when to say what.

When Scene 30 is done, it's time for Miss Lindsey to work with the Tiny Tappers.  Don't forget your tap shoes, girls!  = )

If you need help with vocals on anything, please ask Mrs. Green.

- Mrs. Green

* Scene 29 probably won't take as much time as scheduled to work on.  We may end up pushing everything up, and leaving extra time at the end for the Tiny Tappers to practice
